A collaboration with The Sound Ensemble, directed by Bobby Collins, presenting works by Norwegian composers reinventing old traditions into new creations. The central work of this program is Edvard Grieg’s Holberg Suite. Also featured will be US premieres by Anne Marie Ørbeck, Agnes Ida Pettersen, Anna Berg, and a brand-new commission by NWEGS composer-in-residence, Steven Luksan. Soprano Laura Loge will join them in a performance of David Monrad Johansen songs arranged by Adam Stern. NWEGS Conductor-in-Residence, Abbie Eads, will conduct Grieg’s Holberg Suite. These concerts are also supported and presented in collaboration with Common Tone Arts.
