Continuing performances of the complete songs of Edvard Grieg, Resonance of Bellevue and the Northwest Edvard Grieg Society present Alan Dunbar, baritone, and Knut Erik Jensen, piano in The Complete Songs of Edvard Grieg: Norge!. Exploring Grieg’s songs exemplifying Norwgian national romanticism and patriotism through his music and poetry of Paulson, Bjørnson and others. Alan and Knut Erik will perform the epic “Mountain Thrall” (Bergtekne) as well as songs about the Fatherland, elections, Norwegian heros and common folk and the love for the Norwegian land and people. Enjoy and afternoon of Grieg’s seldom heard works as well as incredibly dramatic songs by two specialists of Norwegian song repertoire.

 

This is the second of seven concerts over the next three years presenting the complete songs of Edvard Grieg, sponsored by the Northwest Edvard Grieg Society.
